Please join us for worship on Sunday, February 7, 2009 at 9 am and then in the fellowship hall for a soup brunch to raise money and collect canned goods for our local food pantry. The Souper Bowl effort is a nationwide effort by churches to support local food pantries in every community. Each church donates the funds raised and the non-perishable food items collected to their local food pantry and then reports their collection to a nationwide data base. 

On Souper Bowl Sunday we have people from the church donate canned goods and bring pots of soup to share. We sell spoons for $1.00 and everyone gets to eat a soup brunch after church. (We have very good cooks at Grace UCC!). All the money raised and the food collected is taken to a local food bank for distribution. It is fun and for a good cause!  Everyone is welcome!

On the last Sunday of each month we make approximately 500 sandwiches to donate to Gateway Homeless Services. Members of the congregation donate bread, cheese, meat, peanut butter and jelly, and sandwich bags. We set up an assembly line and get the sandwiches put together. A couple from the congregation faithfully delivers the sandwiches to Gateway each month. Anyone is welcome to join us in this endeavor. We work following our 9 am worship service.
